Zeldam SEVRES Biscuit beeld Madame Recamier, ca.19th century
I WOULD APRECIATE NO NEGOTIATION. THANK YOU!
Sévres biscuit statue of Madame Recamier.
Signed. ca. end of 19th ~ begining of 20th century, France.
It is a very unique piece and is of a Sévres collectors value.
Sévres porcelein biscuit statue representing madame Juliette Recamier on her daybed depicting scene of well known portrait of herself by Jacques-Louis David.
Jeanne-Françoise Julie Adélaïde Récamier, known as Juliette, was a French socialite, whose salon drew parisians from the leading literary and political circles of the early 19th century (wikipedia).
Statue is on a base in gilded bronze.
Sévres signature on one side with signature of the artist right next to it. Statue is in well preserved state without cracks or chips, just need some dusting, though real collectors enjoy it in original state expressing the edge of this beautiful piece of Sévres art. The screws for two sofa legs became slighter loose, which is not disturbing statue's proper standing position and probably can be tighten.
Dimensions 27,5 cm x 38,6 cm.
Pick up only on Noordeine in The Hague.
