Karen Blixen ( 1885 - 1962 ) was a Danish author .
In 1914 she left for Kenya , Nairobi , where she became a plantation owner . 

What happend to Karen Blixen's 5 devoted workers after dhe left Africa ?  Blixen promised to keep in touch with them and did so through letters , but also with finances to support them. 
The author reveals the lives of the five workers , Farah , Abdullahi , Kamande , Juma and Ali with the help from their children and grandchildren . The book is illustrated with over sixty illustrations .
