1980 Mercedes 207D Campervan

Meet Bennie The Van.

Bennie is a Mercedes 207D from 1980, which puts him in the category of old-timers in the Netherlands (no road tax!)

I have had the pleasure of owning Bennie for the past 2 years and have had amazing times travelling with him in Portugal & Spain. Now due to changes in my plans and travelling ambitions I am looking for a worthy owner to start the next chapter with him.

The van has everything you need to make it your vacation home on wheels:
• Fridge/freezer (electric if plugged in, otherwise propane)
• 2 burner stove (propane)
• Sink with large built-in water tank (good for weeks off the grid depending on usage)
• Retractable awning/sun-shade
• Toilet (not built-in)
• Convertible double bed
• Swivel front seat that can be used as as office chair if you're working remote
• Professionally installed solar panel with battery and outlet (I've run my full working setup off of this no problem)
• Blackout window covers for privacy
• Bike rack
• Plenty of storage compartments
• Mini-vac for keeping things tidy

If you're like me and are looking for an easy entry point into van life without having to do a big conversion / build project, Bennie is road-ready and could be a great fit.

While he is not the fastest camper on the road (90-95 km max), the benefit of these older models is that they're extremely durable and fairly simple machines, so as long as you treat it well and stay on top of the maintenance, they will go forever and are very reliable. Bennie has 322510 kms, but these models are known to go well into the high hundreds so there’s plenty of life in him.

The camper is in great shape mechanically and of course we can arrange an inspection to verify this. I have a folder with the track record of most of the maintenance. The only mechanical work I have had done is had the starting mechanism fixed and I replaced the clutch in April 2023. The only non-mechanical change I've made is have the cushions reupholstered in November 2023.
