Girl 6 is the soundtrack album to the 1996 Warner Bros. movie Girl 6, directed by Spike Lee.
All of the music in the movie was by Prince and his associated artists; the bulk of it was previously-released.
Spike Lee submitted the idea to Prince of ​​making a film built around his songs when he met him in 1990 during the shooting of Graffiti Bridge.
Prince agreed on the condition that he could choose the songs that would be included in the film and the soundtrack.
The album contained three previously-unreleased tracks, She Spoke 2 Me (later released in a longer version on The Vault... Old Friends 4 Sale) and Don't Talk 2 Strangers, both by Prince, and Girl 6, by the New Power Generation.
