INRAD W1 HeadsetThe INRAD W1 Headset has large and comfortable over-the-ear headphones which allow your ears to go inside the padding, preventing the pain of your ear being pressed back against your head. Also, modified aircraft headsets sold by others for ham radio use push down on the top of the head because they are heavy and lack adequate padding at the top. This headband fatigue problem with long-term headset use is solved with two additional features of the W1; thick rubberized foam padding at the top of the headband that molds to the head and a tilt-and-click headband tilt feature, like broadcast headsets, can be tipped back as far as 30 degrees off vertical without moving the earpieces. Next, the received and transmitted audio of the W1 is terrific. Large diaphragm high-response speakers provide clear, clean articulation of received audio. The stereo connector allows use of dual receive transceivers. Transmit audio from the 600 ohm dynamic microphone element, the correct impedance for modern HF transceivers, has an excellent response from 50 Hz-15 kHz. It sounds great for DXing, contesting, and general on-the-air use. The extra-long straight and coiled cable from the headset to the radio, 7 feet total, has a 1/8 inch mono transmit audio plug to connect to the INRAD M-series mic jack adapter for your transceiver.
