Martin Handcraft Alto Saxophone Elkhart-Indiana

I am selling this vintage Martin Handcraft alto saxophone. It is in good condition with most of the original lacquer and the famous “Searchlight” engraving on the bell. It has been recently checked and old pads have been replaced resulting in a great playing condition. This alto saxophone has the signature Martin tapered beveled tone holes, adjustable right-hand thumb hook and heart-shaped left-hand thumb rest.  There is a small dent in the body next to the “neck strap ring” and a tiny bent on the bell. Please see the photos for more details. The serial number is “124250” making this a 1937/38 vintage alto saxophone. The serial number can be found on both the back of the body and the neck. The engraving on the bell is gorgeous. It runs down the entirety of the bell and onto the front of the bow with the words “Martin Handcraft Elkhart, IND. .U.S.A.’ above the iconic engraving of searchlights. This alto saxophone comes with the original neck. Last year the neck has been extended slightly to improve the sharp tuning, giving it a steady tuning through the high and low register. It comes in a 1 year old PT Protec case in great condition and it includes a Selmer C* mouthpiece. This alto saxophone has a classic Martin sound with big and warm resonance in both the lower and upper registers. I bought it 2019 in the USA Vintage Saxophone shop in Düsseldorf, Germany after playing a beginners Yamaha Sax and played it very happily over these 5 years. Now I felt the need to invest in a new saxophone and I bought a Selmer, which gave me reason to sell this beauty. Back then I bought it for 2300€. Since it has been recently checked, had some work done on the neck and includes an as good as new case and mouthpiece I think that 1800 is a fair price, but I am open to negotiate.
