At over 18 feet tall, the adult giraffe is the tallest mammal on Earth. Its young can stand within hours of being born and will never stop standing for most of the rest of their lives. There are four sub-species of giraffes, each known for the distinct brown pattern on their fur and unique blunt horns on their heads. They live in groups of up to 20 giraffes and with their excellent eyesight they are very vigilant of predators. Their blue/black tongues can reach nearly half a meter in length to help them reach the highest foliage of trees on the savanna.
