Mid-Century Modern Italian Valet Stand with Trousers Press by Fratelli Reguitti – 1950s/1960s – Fine Vintage Condition
Description
Overview:
Up for auction is a highly collectible and elegant Mid-Century Modern valet stand (dressboy / herenknecht) featuring an integrated mechanical trousers press. Manufactured in Italy during the 1950s or 1960s by the renowned firm Fratelli Reguitti (FR), this iconic design is heavily inspired by the sophisticated lines of Ico Parisi's furniture art.
Features & Functionality:
Premium Timber: Crafted from high-quality solid wood with a warm, rich grain and beautiful honey patina.
Integrated Trousers Press: The mechanical flip-down wooden panels are designed to perfectly press the crease into suit trousers.
Valet Tray & Coat Hanger: The top features a beautifully sculpted coat hanger alongside a dual-compartment wooden accessory tray, ideal for holding watches, cuff links, and pocket change.
Tie & Belt Racks: Equipped with extendable metal rods on the side for ties or belts.
Mobility: Stands firmly on its original rolling casters at the base for effortless movement.
Condition & Authenticity:
The valet stand is in fine, complete vintage condition. The mechanical parts operate smoothly, and the wooden structure is sturdy. It beautifully retains its original paper instructions badge on the inner panel in both Italian and English ("ATTENZIONE! Stirare un solo paio di calzoni per volta..."), guaranteeing its historical authenticity. Minor age-related surface wear to the finish adds to its authentic mid-century character.
