AKM AK4499EQ DAC
The SMSL VMV D2 embeds an AKM AK4499EQ conversion chip to provide excellent performance and a precise, lively and rich sound reproduction. The Velvet Sound architecture of these DACs allows to reach a very low distortion level and a THD+N measured at -123ddB.
The chip is produced using Premium Audio LSI and non-magnetic encapsulation technology. These improve the performance in terms of noise, especially in the low frequencies.
Adjustable XLR phase
A rare but very useful feature, the SMSL VMV D2 allows you to invert the phase of the balanced XLR output. Thus, the pinout of this output adapts to your system for an optimal compatibility.
Optimised circuits
All the circuits of the SMSL VMV D2 benefit from a careful and optimized design, using only high quality components dedicated to audio. In addition to the AK4499EQ DAC or the XMOS XU216 USB interface, the DAC is equipped with two Accusilicon ultra-low phase noise clocks or an ultra-low noise power supply stage with an output noise floor of only 1.8µVrms embedding two Noratel toroidal transformers, to independently power the digital and analog circuits.
