"Stripdagen Haarlem 2000" Offset printing 42x42cm. Condition: MINT/Archive State

Celebrate the timeless legacy of continental comic culture with this rare, square-format first-edition festival poster. Commissioned by Stichting Beeldverhaal Nederland to anchor the prestigious millennium edition of the biennial Haarlem Comic Days festival, this collectible piece is a classic visual statement by the master of the Klare Lijn style, Joost Swarte. The delightful composition captures an interior gallery view where two figures are carefully positioning comic art frames. A man in a cap holds up a detailed six-panel comic layout layout, while a woman secures a large single frame depicting a cat-like character holding a bird-filled umbrella. The background details a typical clean city street with open building windows where curious neighbors and avian onlookers peek through the panes.Meticulously printed via high-contrast gallery offset lithography on premium wood-free stock in its distinctive 42x42 cm square format, it flawlessly preserves Swarte's uniform ink boundaries and sophisticated geometric layout. The design features a bold, asymmetric framing border using stark red and blue typography that integrates perfectly into the cream backdrop, reading STRIPDAGEN HAARLEM 2000 along the top, left, and right margins, with the official festival dates 3 + 4 JUNI balancing the lower edge. The lower right section of the central illustration plate features the official Joost Swarte © 00 integrated signature emblem, while minimal institutional lines and the festival's official web domain run across the bottom right margin. Sourced straight from an untouched distributor archive portfolio, this uncirculated, investment-grade poster is an absolute centerpiece for comic art historians, graphic novel archives, or premium modern design collections.
