FlapFlap° 10 playfully defies the laws of gravity.r
The luminaire appears to hover freely in the air. r

As if lifted by phantom hands the invisible reiforced cable rises up from the ground to support the lamp-shade. r
The first version of FlapFlap designed by Constantin Wortmann and produced by next home collection dates back to the year 2000. r

For the occasion of next’s tenth anniversary Wortmann has created this redesigned version. r
The outcome is a brilliant, sparkling FlapFlap°10. r
r
Its high-gloss polycarbonate shade is shaped from one piece is clamped directly to the lamp with two sturdy braces. r
This makes it possible to adjust the shade of FlapFlap°10 in different angles and to play around with the different degrees of its apparent weightlessness.r

The design of the lamp could go well with designs from Colombo, Sottsass, Poulsen, Corbusier, Studio Job, Eames, Mari, Cattelan, Jeanneret, Perriand, Prouve and others.r

Constantin Wortmann is a German designer and owner of Design studio Büro für Form.r
r
Constantin Wortmann studied industrial design in Hamburg and Munich. r
In the second year he worked first as an intern then as a freelance designer in the team of lighting maestro Ingo Maurer. r
In 1998, still being a student he co-founded the design studio Büro für Form together with Benjamin Hopf.r
r
In 2000 Büro für Form had its debut in Milan on Salone Satellite and started cooperations with habitat and serien. r
In the coming couple of years Wortmann and Hopf kept on doing prototypes and showing designs in Milan and Cologne.r

The result were projects for Clients (among others): Authentics, Dark, Elmar Flötotto, Georg Jensen, Habitat, Kundalini, Koziol, next, Ritzenhoff, Serien Lighting, Umbra and Ycami.r

While Benjamin Hopf dropped out of the studio and has been going new ways since 2006, Constantin Wortmann started to work on lighting for crazy brand DARK and is once more toying with the viewing habits of his audience.r
