Add a piece of European history to your home with this robust and characterful military chest, believed to date back to the First World War era. Its solid construction, authentic patina, and military green colour make it not only a functional storage piece but also a striking interior statement.

Crafted from wood and reinforced with metal bands and corner fittings, this chest was clearly built to endure tough conditions. The rustic finish, visible wear, and metal hardware all speak to its long journey through time.

A fascinating detail is the word “Revius” painted on one side, while remnants of a scratched-off surname can still be seen. The back carries the marking “Amersfoort” – a Dutch city known for its military presence during WWI, including one of the largest POW camps in the Netherlands. These clues hint at the trunk’s possible military use and give it a compelling historical narrative.

The interior is lined with original striped wallpaper, well preserved, adding a charming touch to its utilitarian past.

Dimensions (approx.): 97 cm (L) x 56 cm (W) x 40 cm (H)

Condition:
Vintage condition with a rich patina: visible wear, scratches, dents, and minor rust on metal parts. These all contribute to its authentic character. The interior is clean and intact with vintage wallpaper lining.

This trunk is ideal as a coffee table, storage unit, or conversation piece for lovers of militaria, vintage interiors, or historical collectibles.
