Shuiping - Yixing Teapot - Made by Ge Mingchang -

A elegantly shaped Yixing teapot from the Qing dynasty called a Shuiping (meaning water level). One of the most beloved Yixing shapes done in a rather bulbous way.
The base bears the four-character mark “Made by Ge Mingchang” (). This teapot was made by Ge Mingchang, a renowned late Qing dynasty potter. In addition to their use in the domestic market, many teapots marked with Ge Mingchang were exported to Southeast Asia and the Japanese market.

H7,5 x W11(handle to spout) x W7 cm
Condition: Lid has multiple small chips, the pot has a hairline in the mouth and minor tiny wear and chips. The teapot has a nice patina from extensive use.
Checked with strong UV light for defects.
