Within the New Originals project, Hutten took a classic Chinese teapot and gave it a bold, modern twist.

The original was cast iron, but Hutten swapped it for sleek porcelain, making it lighter and fresher.

Instead of the usual delicate curve of the handle, Richard Hutten borrowed the grip from a good old-fashioned clothes iron.

Bright red and easy to hold, it’s designed to keep your hands safe as you pour hot tea into your mug.

Dutch designer Richard Hutten has the traditional teapot from China, the original being made of cast iron, this teapot has been modernized and made of porcelain. The teapot also comes with a handle that you may recognize from an iron you use for your clothes.

This red handle will help you handle your hot tea with care. In excellent unused condition, out of production and a hard find outside of Europe.

Richard Hutten is one of The Netherlands best known designers alongside Studio Job, Marcel Wanders, Kiki Van Eijk, Irma Boom, Sabine Marcelis, Hella Jongerius, Bertjan Pot, Maarten Baas, Rem Koolhaas and Wiel Arets etc
