About Nikolai Timkov (1912–1993)
Nikolai Efimovich Timkov was a leading Russian landscape painter and a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. His work is celebrated for its lyrical depiction of nature and mastery of colour and light. Timkov’s paintings are held in major Russian museums, including the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. His influence on the Leningrad School continues to shape Russian plein-air painting traditions.
