Overall dimensions with the frame are 100 cm x 80 cm jc 3 cm and the painting itself measuring 90 cm x 70 cm ,
A very beautiful large Flemish School old master oil on canvas depicting the Crucifixion of Christ.
Condition report and further description:
The work is on canvas and dates to around 1650. It has been relined for support around 1800 -1900 and has some very old and more recent restorations. The work is of lovely quality and is in ready to hang condition. There is craquelure commensurate with its antiquity.
The scene shows Christ on the Cross with three women at his feet - believed to be Mary Magdalene, Mary - Mother of Jesus and Mary of Clopas - known as the three Marys in the Gospel of John.
