Beschrijving

Jacobus Petrus Cornelis van Os was a Dutch painter, copyist and draughtsman, born in Amsterdam in 1869 and died in Bolsward in 1944.
He trained at the Quellinus School of Applied Arts (Amsterdam) and the Rijksnormaalschool voor Teekenonderwijzers (Amsterdam), where he was a pupil of Adrianus Martinus de Groot and Jan Visser.
Jacobus van Os painted various subjects in a naturalistic style, sometimes leaning towards the Hague School (Scheen 1981).
