‘layers of portraits by merit de jong is a collage of five different portraits of women by johannes vermeer. artist merit de jong works a lot with photocollages. with this collage she made the 5 portaits transparent and laid them on top of each other. by positioning and scaling the layers the heads of the portraits are exactly on top of each other and become one.
the artwork is printed on paper with a high quality matte finish. the size is 70 x 100 cm. quite big enough to discover all details.
