Deze cd-speler is van geheel Chinese makelij: zowel ontwerp als productie.
Opera Consonance is een innovatief technologiebedrijf dat met de Forbidden City-serie inzet op grensverleggende high end apparatuur. Deze cd-speler is daar in meerdere opzichten een voorbeeld van. Zo kent deze speler geen upsampling en ook geen digitaal filter; heel gewaagd, maar het resultaat overtuigt - alles passend in het streven om de ultieme levende geluidsdynamiek te realiseren.
Ik bied hem enkel en alleen te koop aan omdat de machine fysiek te groot is in mijn audio-opstelling.
Het apparaat is licht gemodificeerd: de RCA-output-contacten zijn naar de bovenplaat overgezet. Maar dit is gemakkelijk ongedaan te maken.
De nieuwwaarde is momenteel €2448.
Kortom een machine die een belevenis vertegenwoordigt.

Opera was founded in 1994 by Mr. Shi Hui LIU, an optical-mechanical engineer whose real passion was for music (particularly European opera) and audio. His story is the classic "kitchen-table" start-up; he made a tubed amplifier for his own use, was asked to make another for sale, and decided to go into business.
Significantly, Opera has demonstrated with analog at every show since the company's founding. With more than 100 products in the line (including technical and cosmetic variations of products), Mr. Liu still creates all the designs himself. The product range includes both solid-state and tubed integrated amplifiers, preamps, power amps, CD players, and turntables.
