Selling my pair of ELAC Debut B6 (DB61-BK) bookshelf speakers, designed by legendary speaker designer Andrew Jones.

These are the original first-generation Debut B6 — a passive 2-way bass-reflex speaker with a 6.5" woven aramid-fibre woofer and 1" cloth-dome tweeter. They were designed to offer genuinely high-quality hi-fi sound at an accessible price and have become a bit of a modern classic in that category.

They have a surprisingly full, warm and powerful sound for bookshelf speakers, with a frequency range of 44 Hz–20 kHz, 6-ohm nominal impedance, 87 dB sensitivity and up to 120 W amplification.

Important: these are passive speakers, so they need to be connected to an amplifier/receiver — they do not plug directly into your phone or power outlet.

I love these but apartment living means I've never really been able to let them do what they're capable of. I'm also simplifying my home and getting more things off the floor, so I'd rather they went to someone who will actually enjoy them.

Condition: Technically, both speakers are in excellent working condition and sound as they should. One cabinet is also in excellent cosmetic condition. Unfortunately, my new cat recently introduced herself to the other one 😅 and left several scratches on the exterior cabinet. I've photographed these clearly. They are purely cosmetic and have no effect whatsoever on the speaker, drivers or sound. If they're going onto a bookshelf, the marks will also be considerably less noticeable.

Designed in California, assembled in China. Black brushed-vinyl finish. Approximately 35.6 × 21.6 × 25.4 cm each and 6.5 kg each.

They're excellent speakers with a lot of life left in them, and I'd love them to go to someone who will actually turn them up.
