The SYM-AMP is a multichannel unit for boosting and attenuation of audio signals as well as for balancing, unbalancing and impedance matching.
It is designed to cooperate with a multitude of
audio signal sources. Thus it represents the
'missing link' between low-level unbalanced
consumer audio gear and line-level balanced
studio equipment.
The SYM-AMP incorporates three stereo balancing amplifiers and two stereo differential amplifiers. Therefore, it is ideally suitable for matching and balancing e.g. record and repro path of DAT machines, cassette decks or CD-players.
In order to avoid ground loops, signal ground
can be removed from XLR pin 1 by pulling internal jumpers.
Section A is a stereo path from unbalanced to balanced. Unlike the other sections, it offers a RIAA preamp for magnetic cartridge turntables which can be activated by internal jumpers.
Section "B" and "C" are identical, offering a stereo path from unbalanced to balanced as well
as in opposite direction.
