Linn Lingo. Betreft de eerste versie (= Lingo 1) die qua schakeling identiek is aan de Lingo 2 en grosso modo ook aan de Lingo 3 (zie hieronder). De Lingo 4 is andere koek. Voordeel van de Lingo 1 tov de Lingo 2 (en 3) is dat-ie kleiner is. Komt installatieklaar en met instructies (15 minuten werk om een Majik of Valhalla set-up om te bouwen naar een Lingo set-up; kan ik ook doen).
"The Lingo 1 was introduced in 1990 and modified for safer operation in 1995 around serial number 10000. The Lingo 2 was introduced in early 2001 (serial number 614522 on). It had the same circuit as the Lingo 1 in a larger Linn LK chassis. I don't believe anyone claims that this represented any musical improvement, it was just a change in case size. I think it might be best if we all started calling this Lingo 2 the Lingo 1.2! In fall 2001 the main circuit board of the Lingo 2 was significantly reworked using surface mount components instead of through-hole types, while the circuit and layout were basically the same (serial number 656968 on). The Lingo 3 is the same updated board in the newer Linn AV chassis."
