Clearaudio / Souther TQ1 Tangential Tonearm – Rare, Fully Serviced
A true audiophile classic: the Clearaudio TQ1 tangential tonearm (also known as the Souther TQ1) – a fully mechanical, linear-tracking arm designed for absolute precision. No motors, no electronics, no servo correction — just pure, frictionless tracking, exactly as the groove was cut.
Key Features:
• Fully passive linear tracking — no servo motors or electronics
• Ultra-low-mass aluminum sled — ideal for high-sensitivity MC/MM cartridges
• Original Clearaudio Reference armboard included
• Serviced by Clearaudio in Germany — excellent working condition, repacked by Clearaudio including the gloves 😁
• No anti-skating needed — groove is tracked tangentially and directly
• Compact effective length (~105mm) — requires flat mounting surface
• Can be mounted on other turntables — custom armboard may be needed (I had one CNC-machined for €200 for a 12-inch tonearm)
Condition: after serviced used it for max 100 hours.
Always mounted on a Clearaudio Reference turntable and used with care. Professionally serviced by Clearaudio — currently not in use after upgrading to a 12-inch pivot arm.
