Digidesign 003 Rack – FireWire Hard Disc Recording SystemThe 003 Rack is a complete and full-featured Digital Audio Worksation, comprising a 2U rack-mount module with analog, digital and MIDI input and output.

In addition to eight high-quality analog I/Os, four of which are phantom powered microphone preamps, the 003 provides eight-channels of ADAT LightPipe I/O (48kHz maximum), two channels of coaxial S/PDIF, WordClock I/O and MIDI I/O. The unit ships with two headphone outputs with individual source and level control, in addition to a studio monitor output, plus alternate control room output.

While not a major upgrade from the 002 family, the 003 series does add WordClock, a second headphone output and slightly better audio specifications.
