About This Edition
When Stainless Steel Illusion" was first published 20 years ago, the future for John De Lorean's car was uncertain. What has happened in those ensuing 20 years is presented in a new chapter added to this second edition, which is otherwise identical in every way to the first printing and uses the original printing film. This new chapter, written by long-time De Lorean enthusiast Ryan McCaffrey, details what happened to the unsold cars and parts after the factory was closed, the "Back to the Future" phenomenon, the growth of the De Lorean community on the internet, events and shows for De Lorean enthusiasts, the formation of the new De Lorean Motor Company by Stephen Wynne and for those interested in owning and driving the car, the upgrades and parts replacements available for the engine, suspension and interior.
Given the dedication of De Lorean owners and enthusiasts, we wouldn't be surprised to see another edition of *Stainless Steel Illusion' in another 20 years.
