Review:
I purchased this like new hardcover book (1999 format) to go along with my copy of 'The Chronological Bible' KJV translation; edited by Edward REESE (1977). Mr. Reese, in his published AWESOME version, over no few years, 'edited' all of the complete text of the KJV into a most unique format: the books, chapters, and verses have been rearranged so that when one 'reads/studies' God Word he/she actually finds themselves following all of the events, etc. as they HAPPENED "chronologically in real time".
Cover To Cover, which naturally follows 'The Chronological Bible' was designed to enable the serious reader to 'read' through the rearranged Bible in one year. Each page assigns certain Bible verses to be covered for that particular day's reading. The book also has a "Bird's Eye View" of each Bible book. Charts, maps, diagrams and even a "Time Line" are all included "for additional *background* info in order to help your understanding of the Bible, and Bible times to give insight into *themes* running through the whole of the Scriptures".
The Cover To Cover 1999 edition is meant to go along with Mr. Reese's (1977) edited KJV. However, Scriptures, when quoted are taken from the NIV. It should be noted that they are not the "meat" --- but used only as an easier_read OVERVIEW of the assigned day's reading of the Bible; everything else is structured to be used in conjunction with Mr. Reese's edited KJV. As an aside, a later edition of Cover To Cover was published using the NIV; one would naturally use it with a NIV Bible. FTR, I am a Bible Elder who avoids the later publications of God's Word.

I love this book. This book is a 366-day Bible reading guide that goes through a chronological reading of the Bible. This is a great way to read the Bible for the first time. When you read the Psalms in written order, you may wonder why one Psalm has David asking the Lord to destroy his enemies, then the next Psalm asks the Lord to have mercy on his enemies. Well it all makes sense when you're reading the story as it happened.
This book is a guide, so you will use your own Bible, and often will have to flip many times to different sections of the Bible. But the point isn't to make it convenient for reading one page after another, but rather to read chronologically. If you want to complain about having to do it this way, well, since God wrote the Bible, you would have to complain to Him. Or pick up a Bible that is in chronological order. But I happen to like this way, since I get familiar with where all of the books are located.
