This large book is probably the most comprehensive one-volume encyclopedia of
the art of painting ever published in the English language. In the Fourth Revised Edition hundreds of entries from the decade of the '70s have been added and updated. Included are such notable twentieth century painters as Blake,
Corneille, Dine, Estes, Hockney, Kline, Jorn, Rauschenberg, Schiele, Stella, Still, Tapies, Tworkov, Vasarely, Vedova and Warhol, to name just a few.
