Kazimir Malevich (Kiev 1878-Leningrad 1935) werd wereldberoemd
door zijn schilderij Zwart Vierkant. Veel minder bekend is dat hij vanaf
1928 tot aan zijn dood in 1935 een groot aantal figuratieve schilderijen
heeft gemaakt, die veelal het boerenleven in de Sovjet-Unie als onderwerp
hebben. Vrijwel zijn volledige nalatenschap kwam na zijn dood terecht in
het Staats Russisch Museum, en werden onder het communistisch regime
nauwelijks tentoongesteld...

Full-color illustrations of works from the career of Malevich, with essays
and s and biographical information in Dutch and English.
The illustrations include about 100 canvases, more than 50 graphic
works, as well as a number of decorative and applied pieces, stage
and book designs all by Malevich. Also included are photographic
and documentary materials relating to the artist's life.
