Completely inscrutable (and easily the equal of the artworks) are the plain, black-and-white pages at the back that attempt to show the illustrators in their natural habitats: Minako self-posessedly riding her bike, Pater lighting up a cigarette at the draughting table beneath his own gallery show poster, and Harumi – always Harumi – coyly grinning in a lamè hoodie, returning a table tennis volley, taking a swing with a golf club, busting out a drawer filled with dozens of gleaming airbrush nozzles.
