Engelstalig boek. Joseph J. Shomon was kapitein bij de Gravendienst en diende bijna twee jaar op het Europese oorlogstoneel, waar hij tijdelijke oorlogsbegraafplaatsen aanlegde voor de gevallenen in de strijd. De meest bijzondere daarvan was de begraafplaats te Margraten in Limburg, de grootste uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Hij heeft de bronzen ster medaille ontvangen voor zijn excellente graf registratie. In het Nederlands verscheen het boek als Kruizen in de wind.
