Review: Used for general information. A little outdated now but helpful in reading military history.
Review: This is a must book for any WWII buff and especially for any Naval enthusiast not to mention any one qualified submarines!
This is well worded, good pictures, and excellent details for all boats listed. The type/font is easy to read and the size of the book is unique for a library standout. A perfect item to take along to a bar, leave on the coffee table or use as a handy reference.
Review: The author does a nice job of providing precise specifications, illustrations and photos of submarines, as well as grouping those submarines into separate mission categories (diesel attack submarines, cruise missile submarines, ballistic missile submarines). Although the Type 093 and Borei class submarine were built after this book was published, anyone who's fascinated by those seagoing marauders will surely enjoy this field guide.
