Jan A.F.M. Luijten - Canada and Noord-Brabant

The well-known Soester neurologist/historian Jan Luijten published a new reprint of his book about the liberation of North Brabant by the Canadians. In Canada and Noord-Brabant, an eternal bond, the battle around Bergen op Zoom and Kapelsche Veer is central. These were the bloody aftermath of the war, during which Jan Luijten was liberated by the Canadian Kipp. Fifty-five years later, Luijten tracked down Kipp and they toasted those fearful days in the air raid shelters of Bergen op Zoom.
