The boat springs first one then two leaks, which the man blames on the Voice. Then the man discovers that he's stuck.

He can't reach his oars to move but he can't step out of the boat to follow. He's sure he will drown either way. The Voice again says, "Follow me" and "I love you." Finally the man takes a risk, steps out of the boat, and discovers he can walk on water.

"The Voice" by R.W. Metlen, is a book that wonderfully illustrates our attitude when God tries to step in and help us during our Christian walk. Too often, we are like the character in the book when we tell God, "no, I don't need your help," or "I can do this on my own Lord, leave me alone." God may become silent as he patiently waits for us to acknowledge Him but He never walks away. The story is mixed with humor and amazing illustrations, making this book relatable to children and adults. If we are truly honest with ourselves, we will be able to relate to the character as representing our own journey. I highly recommend this book!
