Eva Germaine Rimington Taylor (1879 -1966) was an English geographer and historian of science, the first woman to hold an academic chair of geography in the United Kingdom. She was Emeritus Professor of Geography, London University and a Hon. Member of the Institute of Navigation when this book was published in 1956.
