Ozzy Osbourne - Ordinary Man - CD

“There’s a line in ‘Ordinary Man’ where I sing, ‘I don’t want to die an ordinary man,’ which I don’t think I will,” aldus Ozzy Osbourne. Ordinary Man is het eerste album van de Prince Of Darkness in tien jaar en bevat naast knallende rocktracks zoals Under The Graveyard en Straight To Hell, met Slash van Guns N' Roises op gitaar, enkele hartverwarmende ballads zoals het titelnummer dat Ozzy samen opnam met niemand minder dan Elton John. Over de totstandkoming van het album zegt hij: “It was a lot of fun to do though it’s a lot different from my other albums. We recorded it quickly, which I haven’t done since the first Black Sabbath album. This made it a different process, which I actually enjoyed.”

Ordinary Man is opgenomen in Los Angeles met producer Andrew Watt op gitaar, Duff McKagan van Guns N’ Roses op basgitaar en Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. Daarnaast kreeg Ozzy hulp van vele van zijn muzikale vrienden waaronder dus Elton John, maar ook Post Malone en Tom Morello. Ozzy licht de samenwerkingen toe: “It all just came together. Slash is a dear friend of mine, as is Elton. When I was writing ‘Ordinary Man,’ it reminded me of an old Elton song and I said to Sharon, ‘I wonder if he would sing on it?’ We asked and lo and behold, he agreed and sings and play piano on the song.”
