The fold is quite complex but it works, the cable is just long enough. Voor snellere configuraties dan snellere dan DMA 2 Ultra DMA ATA/44, ATA/66 66.7Mhz tot Ultra ATA/100 en Ultra ATA/133 133Mhz standaards is een 40-polige 80-aderige IDE ribbon cable nodig voor de maximale snelheidsoverdracht. Echter als de (retro) harde schijf of aangesloten hardware geen hogere Ultra ATA DMA standaarden ondersteund dan is een 40-polige IDE voor legacy retro opstelling voldoende. The 80-Conductor Cable: is for Ultra DMA modes over 2 and then an 80-conductor cable must be used. If an 80-conductor cable is not detected by the system, 66 MB/s or 100 MB/s operation will be disabled. A Ultra DMA 80-conductor is not mandatory. However to achieve optimal results and be able to write up to the maximum speed, it is required.
