Mijn naam is Bastian. Ik geloof in het creëren van prachtige kansen wereldwijd door mensen in hun kracht te zetten om zichzelf en hun ideeën, producten of diensten doeltreffend te presenteren met welbespraakt, overtuigend Engels.
Dit doe ik door het toepassen van mijn eigen systeem welk zich op de praktische kant van de taal richt. Want mensen verbeteren tenslotte hun prestaties door te dóen.
Ik stimuleer het zelfvertrouwen van mensen bij het gebruiken van Engels, zowel in specifieke situaties (zoals het voorbereiden van presentaties, sollicitatieprocedures, marketing materiaal) als in het algemeen, voor dagelijks Engelse taal gebruik (bijv. doceren/coachen). In beide gevallen pas ik de psychologie toe voor verbeterde resultaten.

Ik ben er van overtuigd dat ik jou kan helpen met jouw Engelse taal behoeften omdat ik mijn eigen onderwijssysteem op mijzelf heb getest en heb bewezen dat het werkt: ik heb mijzelf Nederlands geleerd en kan nu met vertrouwen alles wat ik wil in het Nederlands communiceren. Ik geloof dat de ervaring die ik heb opgedaan met dit proces het waardevolste deel is van mijn 25 jaar ervaring met Engels doceren/coachen/adviseren.
Vanwege mijn persoonlijke ervaring begrijp ik de behoeften van mijn cliënten veel beter dan degenen die deze ervaring niet hebben.
Immers, als jij zou kunnen kiezen tussen een coach die alleen coaching heeft gestudeerd of iemand die de principes ook met succes heeft toegepast, voor welke zou jij dan gaan?

Toen ik 12 jaar geleden naar Nederland verhuisde merkte ik hoe mijn gebrek aan Nederlands mij in de weg stond. Ik zat vast en kwam maar niet verder in het leven, waardoor ik opeens begreep hoe belangrijk het is om jezelf, je ideeën, producten of diensten doeltreffend te kunnen presenteren. En terwijl dit in je eigen taal al moeilijk genoeg is, is het nog lastiger in een andere taal.
Ik had geen geld voor dure taalcursussen of docenten en heb dus mezelf de taal geleerd door mijn eigen lesmethodes en de psychologie op mezelf toe te passen. En omdat het mij zoveel kansen bracht en mijn leven veranderde wil ik graag anderen in dergelijke situaties helpen.
De ervaring heeft mij geleerd dat motivatie en discipline belangrijker zijn dan alleen geld. Het is juist een práktische toepassing, dus niet luisteren of lezen, die de prestaties verbetert (vandaar de uitdrukking “oefening baart kunst”).
Dankzij het onderwijssysteem dat ik zelf heb ontwikkeld, kunnen mijn cliënten het grootste deel van het leren in hun eigen tijd doen, kosteloos, maar onder mijn begeleiding (in de lessen, waarvoor zij betalen). Op deze manier wordt het leerproces relatief goedkoper en véél effectiever.

Ik ben native speaker Engels (ik heb in Engeland 18 jaar privé opleiding gehad, en mijn bachelor en diploma ‘docent Engels’ gehaald); ik heb een gevoel voor talen; en inmiddels maar liefst 25 jaar ervaring in deze rol.
Bovendien heb ik op de universiteit psychologie gestudeerd (waar ik gepassioneerd over ben) en dat blijf ik ook studeren.
Ik begrijp wat voor impact de psychologie kan hebben op taalgebruik, op hoe jij je presenteert en op hoe jij en jouw ideeën, producten of diensten op anderen overkomen. Ik weet ook hoe mensen beter leren en presteren door te genieten van het leerproces of door multi-sensorisch leren.
Dit zijn de redenen waarom ik zo goed ben in het helpen van (niet-native) Engelse taal gebruikers om in deze globaliserende wereld hun belemmeringen voor het gebruiken van effectief Engels te doorbreken.

Mijn aanpak is enthousiast en rustig, zorgzaam en holistisch. Ik heb met moeilijk lerende mensen met een leerachterstand of leerproblemen (bijv. Autisme/dyslexie) successen geboekt. Óók met top zakenmensen als de nummer één reclame-advocaat van Nederland en met wereldbedrijven als Shell, KPMG en Delta Lloyd heb ik grote successen geboekt. Naast Engels doceer ik ook muziek, wiskunde, IT en yoga. Ik vind het belangrijk om in de les een veilige omgeving te creëren zodat jij je comfortabel voelt en gemakkelijker de taal tot je neemt (dus jij mag ook Nederlands gebruiken als jij dat liever hebt!).

My name is Bastian. I believe in creating wonderful opportunities worldwide by empowering people to present themselves, their ideas, products or services effectively using convincing, eloquent English.
I do this by using my own system that focuses on the practical side of English because, after all, people improve their performance by doing.
I boost people’s confidence with English, both in specific situations (such as preparing presentations/job applications/marketing material) and in general, for everyday-English use (e.g. teaching/coaching). In both cases, I apply psychology to enhance the results.

I am confident that I can help you with your English needs because I have tested my own teaching system on myself and proved it works: I taught myself Dutch and can now confidently communicate anything I want in Dutch! I believe the experience I gained from this process to be the most valuable part of my 25 years of professional experience with English teaching/coaching/advising. Because of my personal experience, I understand my clients’ needs much better than those who do not have this experience.
After all, if you could choose between a coach who has only studied coaching and one who has also successfully applied the principles, which one would you choose?

When I moved to the Netherlands 12 years ago, I noticed how not being able to use Dutch was getting in my way. I was stuck and couldn’t move forwards in life, which made me understand how important it is to be able to present yourself, your ideas, products or services effectively. While this is hard enough in your own language, it’s even harder in another language.
I had no money for expensive language courses or tutors and taught myself Dutch by applying my own teaching methods and psychology to myself. Because it brought me so many new opportunities and changed my life, I want to help others in similar situations.
My experience taught me that motivation and discipline are more important than money alone. It is practical application, not listening or reading, that improves performance (which is why we say “practice makes perfect”). Thanks to the teaching system I myself have developed, my clients do most of the learning in their own time, free of charge, but under my guidance (in the lessons, for which they pay). In this way, the learning process becomes relatively cheaper and is far more effective.

I am native English speaker (I got 18 years’ private education, a bachelor’s degree and English-teacher’s certificate in England); I have a feel for languages; and I now have no less than 25 years’ experience in this role.
Furthermore, at university, I studied psychology, which I’m passionate about and continue to study. I understand the impact that psychology can have on language use, presentation and how you and your ideas/products/services are perceived. I also know how people learn and perform better by enjoying the learning process or through multisensory learning.
These are the reasons why I’m so good at helping (non-native) English users in this globalising world to break through their obstacles to using effective English.

My approach is enthusiastic, calm, caring and holistic. I have successfully helped people who claimed to be ‘unteachable’, or had learning difficulties or disadvantages (e.g. autism/dyslexia). I have also worked, with great success, with top business people such as the number-one advertising lawyer in the Netherlands and with global companies such as Shell, KPMG, Delta Lloyd.
Besides English, I also teach Music, Mathematics, IT and Yoga. I believe it is important to create a safe environment in the lesson so that you feel comfortable and assimilate/learn the language more easily.
