Omschrijving van dit kavel (in het Engels):

This organ was originally built circa 1925 with 101 keys. The earliest Bill Nunn could document the organ in the U.S. was the 1950s, in the city of Law, Mississippi, with Leslie Hagwood, who also had Hooghuys LH5252. At some point the Hooghuys organ was severely damaged and the facade was then used for this Mortier organ. The next home for this organ was with Lee Edwards and Hugh Star on display in Underground Atlanta. On loan, the organ spent some time in the Atlanta Stadium entertaining the Braves fans. The organ played before baseball games and whenever the Braves scored a run. Lee Edwards was badly injured in a car crash and the organ went to Tom Fretty. By then the organ had lost its side, top and front pipes and the book music was worn out. Floyd Taylor from Kansas City restored it for Tom as a fair organ playing Wurlitzer Military Band Organ Style 165 music.
The organ facade is currently in very good visual condition showing only minor natural wear: small and medium cracks in the wood. It features, vibrant paintwork, intricate woodcarved floral ornaments, gold and silver leaf decoration and 5 static wood organ figures.
While it is sad not to have it as originally manufactured, it is now a great sounding fairground organ. With all the Wurlitzer, BAB, Stinson European music as well as contemporary arrangers like David Stumpf, Bob Stuhmer, Tom Meijer and Wayne Holton it has an extensive library of very good music available. Currently the Mortier is in good playing condition, it comes with 21 music rolls and features the following instrument pipes - bass, trombone, violin, Unda Maris, saxophone, flute, trumpet and the following percussion instruments - bells, xylophone, snare drum, bass drum, triangle and cymbals. It uses both an electric blower and the original bellows for air and comes with the original 101 key Th. Morthier keyframe dismounted.
