  • It is now possible to convert a LESLIE with a 6-pole connector, to make it AUTONOMOUS and not depend on the always problematic six-pin cable, and thus be able to use it with any instrument that has an audio output that can be connected with a cable with a 1/4” jack.

The Kit can be housed in several ways, in the lower rear compartment of the amplifier, in such a way that the box containing the electronics is housed very close to the amplifier, which makes a simple connection to it feasible. A window can be made in the bottom cover of the Leslie, as can be seen in some of the photographs. It can also be made in the central cover, in the rectangular opening that most models of Leslie amplifiers have.
If it does not have a bottom cover, and you want to place it in the position shown in one of the photographs, you can request a cover with the window included (this is not included in the package and price indicated).
It eliminates the need for DC voltage in the audio line that normally controls the switching of the motors in a 122, and balanced audio TRS connection for this model.
The versions of the Leslie amplifiers, built for the European market (230V.) for the most part, have a characteristic (I suppose that at the time it was done for economic reasons) and that is that the motors work with 117V voltage, a variable that conditions possible solutions, and that is solved without adding a transformer for this purpose as was usual.
It is not necessary to make any transformation in the amplifier, and it is easily reversible if you want to use it in its current state.
To connect the Kit, simply remove the cables from the motors connected to the amplifier and apply them to the sockets on the back of the box, and connect the cable with the six-pin terminal coming out of it to the amplifier block, and the flat pin cable to one of the motor connectors marked slow, apply the power cable to the mains, connect the speed change pedal, connect the desired instrument and it is ready to operate.
The connection sequence can be seen in the attached images.
The set includes:
- Motor control box, in which the following are located
- IEC power connection base,
- Switch
- Power light
- Fuse
- Jack-type connector for audio input
- Jack-type connector for pedal input or half-moon for gear change
- Four American-type plug sockets for connecting the motors
- Internal electronics with a double solid state relay (SSR) that allows control of the speeds, fast, stop and slow, adding the stop option, not present in the common options of this type of Leslies, and eliminating for life the clicks that are so common and annoying when the speed change is activated.
- Connection cable to the amplifier block with six-pin terminal, for power and audio supply.
- Double switch pedal, for speed control, with On/Off and Slow/Fast options. Optionally it can be replaced by a half-moon designed for the same functions.
It is valid for the rest of the models belonging to the 122(6H) or 22, 32H, 22H etc. families and the 147 (6W), 44W, 46W, 47 etc. families (not with the Suzuki 122a).
The need for high voltage is eliminated inside the speed switch, pedal or half-moon, as 5 or 12VDc is used.
If you have a Leslie amplifier with US market specifications (117 V), fit a 230V to 117V transformer, and connect the system to the 117V end, and it will work just the same.
Always indicate the model of the amplifier to which you want to connect (122 or 147 or one of their respective families).
This kit will work correctly as long as the amplifier has not been modified in any way, in which case we decline all responsibility.
