Description: A heavy, solid-cast bronze temple chime (37x27x2 cm, 6.5 kg) from Sagaing, Myanmar.

Years: Late 19th Century (Burmese Konbaung Era or British Colonial Period, c. 1880

Brief: Shaped to mimic a Buddhist stupa, this institutional-sized gong features a circular maker’s stamp at the top and a faint, hand-chiseled donor dedication in Burmese script across the body. When suspended from its central hole and struck, it spins to create a distinctive, warbling sound traditionally used to mark the sharing of spiritual merit.
