Masood was van origine timmerman en heeft op verzoek van Ustad Rahim Khushnawaz twee rubabs gemaakt. Dit instrument is één van die twee – een bijzonder stuk met een unieke geschiedenis.

De rubab is ongeveer 35 jaar geleden gebouwd en is sindsdien altijd zorgvuldig gebruikt en bewaard in Iran, bij een student van Ustad Rahim Khushnawaz.
Het instrument verkeert in uitstekende staat: volledig intact, speelklaar, met alle snaren aanwezig en een hoogwaardig vel van uitstekende resonantie.

Masood was originally a carpenter and, at the request of Ustad Rahim Khushnawaz, he built two rubabs. This instrument is one of those two – a rare and unique piece with great historical and musical value.
