Uniek model T3/B van Taylor uit 2009. In die periode produceerde Taylor zeer goede solid body en semi-hollow elektrische gitaren. Na enkele jaren is men daarmee gestopt. Dit model T3/B - met semi-hollow body en Bigsby - is daarom niet meer in productie en een echt collectors item geworden.

Prachtig exemplaar met quilted / flamed maple top, sapele body, sapele hals, ebony toets, Bigsby vibrato, Taylor stemmechanieken en HD en/of Vintage Alnico humbuckers mét coil-split.

Bij de Bigsby tremolo is een ‘rollerbridge’ gebruikt, waardoor er minder last is van ontstemmen.

De hals speelt voortreffelijk, zoals bekend van Taylor. De afwerking is perfect. De klank is zeer veelzijdig: helder, warm en open. Denk aan een Gibson ES 335 gemengd met Telecaster. De vorm is bijzonder voor een elektrische gitaar, met een Venetian cutaway, overgenomen van de akoestische series.

Extra set Vintage Alnico humbuckers is in deze prijs bijgeleverd en eenvoudig te wisselen, zonder te solderen (zie foto’s) Deze geven een vetter en smeuig geluid (meer Les Paul) dan de meer cleane standaard HD elementen. Vooral de combinatie van Vintage Alnico element bij de brug en HD bij te hals is te gek (zie foto's) en geeft de gitaar meerwaarde.

“This is one rockin’ guitar that produces sounds our SolidBodys and T5's don’t have. When you do something that looks good, that’s one thing, but when cool sounds start coming out, you go, ‘Man, that’s just it.’ We knew this guitar was too good to hold back,” shares David Hosler, lead designer.

“The way I describe it is, imagine you have a guitar with two humbuckers and a three-way, and you have a guitar with two single coils and a three-way, which gives you that really cool, ‘bitey’ sound,” adds Hosler.

Hosler explains, “In the down position, one capacitor punches up the mid tones. Then when you pull the knob up, it adds another capacitor on top of it and uncorks a warm, fat, mellow old-school jazz tone. In between these two voices, this guitar spans the spectrum from traditional, hard rock to jazzy fusion. Even when overdriven, the air, articulation and distinction of all notes are there.”
