The model 184 bass was produced by Hofner from 1974 to 1980, Clearly basing the looks on Fender's world-conquering Jazz and Precision basses, the 184 falls stylistically somewhere between the two, while also retaining and updating certain aspects of Hofner's own 182 and 185 artist models, both of which had been in production since the early sixties.
