This is the ultimate Jimi Hendrix "Machine Gun" with a little Mary Kaye vibe on the side...

An very nicely worn 3.3Kg original and rare 1962 Strat in custom order Blond (there's no "e" in the Fender catalog) nitro finish over an Ash body, no refinish, no overspray, no touch-ups, checking, craquelé and wear all over the body, sweet neck stamped 2 AUG 62B. The tone, vibe and looks of this axe are absolutely crazy....

How does it sound? It's Jimi Hendrix all over... Raw, powerful, fat, big... Great fat sounds from the original black bottom single coil pickups, woody and chimey and a powerful lead tone from the bridge pickup with lots of wood in the tone and powerful fat bottom neck pickup sounds, just like Jimi's '63. Amazing sustain and a perfect setup (not easy to get it spot on!) make this one hell of a guitar!!

It is all original 1962 with 3 x original Fender Black Bottom single coil pickups, pots date to week 32, 1962 (304.62.32), original capacitor, 3-way switch, cloth wire, original knobs, pickguard (although it looks more shiny and less worn then the guitar, it is an original period correct nitro greenguard), shield and plastics, double line Kluson Deluxe tuners, original tremolo bridge and saddles, all serviced to operate perfectly. Not sure about the tremolo arm which could be a repro. The solid Ash body had a slightly enlarged bridge pickup cavity routing that has been professionally restored and is nearly invisible. You will have to look very very (VERY!) hard, with the help of UV light, to see that there was a bit of work done. The body has the correct pin holes on the top and shoulder in the cavity for a '62. Body date stamp 9/62 (September 1962). Neck date stamp 2 AUG 62B (August 1962) with original marks, trussrod works fine, original spaghetti logo decal with 3 patent numbers below in great condition. Original non-slab (veneer/curved) dark RW fretboard with clay dots in good condition (clay dot on the 19th replaced), frets (refretted) in good condition with plenty of life left. The neck feels wonderful, like an old friend, and there is hardly any finish left on the back.

Comes with CITES documentation and the original Brown case which is in great condition.
