Ⰶ PRESIDENCY 1961-1967 SWART (1894-1982): SOUTH AFRICA ★ 2 CENTS 1968 WILDEBEEST DIE A!
Interesting coin dedicated to the end of Charles Robberts Swart's (1961-1967) presidency with wildebeest bucking left in attractive condition. It is the first and less common now issue dedicated to the end of presidency with the portrait during the life of the person. For varieties lovers: following tradition of multinational Belgium which made the same coins but with legends in French or in Dutch there were two issues of this coin too: with English and Afrikaans. Earlier Afrikaans considered ad dialect of the Netherlands origin, but now it was proved that it is language. This coin bears Afrikaans legend. Recently the main dies were discovered and the standard classification was developed by the seller.
This coin is attributed as stuck by Rev. die A. For high interest of collectors to varieties the standard classification was published in the world coins variety section of comprehensive catalog VARIETIES OF EURO COINS.
