This Tissot Seastar Seven Automatic is a rare and exceptional find, in outstanding vintage condition.
Produced in the mid-1970s, this model stands out not only as a Seastar Seven but as an oval-shaped watch with a coin bezel made from lighter stainless steel.
After 46 years of collecting, we've never encountered another in this unique oval shape, making it a truly distinctive piece. It was discovered in an antique shop tucked away on a side street in York's Shambles, adding an extra layer of charm to its history.
Tissot, a renowned name in Swiss watchmaking, created this timepiece with impeccable craftsmanship.
The champagne-coloured dial has developed a gentle age patina that enhances both its authenticity and its value. The raised batons and the date at the 3 o'clock position are complemented by the gold hands, with the seconds hand sweeping gracefully across the face. The mineral crystal shows light wear, consistent with limited use, but these marks are part of the watch's character and history. We never polish them out, as they contribute to the watch's vintage appeal.
The case remains in excellent condition for its age, with no dings, scratches, or noticeable marks on the back or sides. The original crown tucks seamlessly into the oval case. The watch is also waterproof, though it hasn't been tested for water resistance.
