Sandoz Submariner 70/80 - ies

Vintage Sandoz Submariner. From the early 70/80-ies. For whom aspires to own a vintage Sub such as a 1680, 5512 or 5513 but does not want to break the bank and wants to have a true vintage watch that is period correct. In fully original configuration which is very rare.

In the early 1980s, Sandoz was already taking notes. Sandoz recognized the success of the Submariner and the cool intricate details that made these dive watches special. Sandoz consolidated some of the more unique Submariner characteristics into their own interpretation of the Rolex icon. They did so long before vintage Submariners had sky-rocketed in value to collectors.

The Sandoz has been heavily used for modding, also because the measurements are identical with the Rolex and Tudor models it was inspired by. So, you could easily replace the bezel insert with a rolex/tudor part. Some modders replace the dial with an original tudor or rolex dial. I have kept this watch fully original instead.

Comes with an original Tudor Nato strap, the best Nato there is.

Watch band has been restored by my watch maker who restores regularly Rolex watch bands. Watch has been restored while respecting its age and wear. Eta movement has been serviced, and fitted with a domed perspex watch crystal. Lume is original. With screw down crown, hacking and winding. Case is 40mm with a lug width of 20mm. Comes with an extra link. Total work surmounted to €750, by a certified high end watchmaker.
