The Italy 2010 home kit, designed by Puma, featured a classic Azzurri blue base with a modern twist. The design included subtle tonal patterns on the front, inspired by the architecture and culture of Italy, giving the kit a unique texture. The white Puma logo was placed on the right chest, while the FIGC (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio) crest with four stars—representing Italy’s four World Cup titles (1934, 1938, 1982, 2006)—was positioned on the left chest. The kit also had a gold trim around the collar, adding an elegant touch.

This kit was worn during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, where Italy, the defending champions, had a disastrous campaign. Managed by Marcello Lippi, the Azzurri failed to win a single match and were eliminated in the group stage, finishing last in Group F behind Paraguay, Slovakia, and New Zealand. It was a shocking exit for a team that had lifted the World Cup just four years earlier.

Despite the disappointment, the squad still had several legendary players, as well as emerging talents.

Key players who wore the Italy 2010 home kit: Gianluigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro, Giorgio Chiellini, Daniele De Rossi, Andrea Pirlo, Antonio Di Natale, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Claudio Marchisio, Riccardo Montolivo, Simone Pepe, Alberto Gilardino, Mauro Camoranesi, Domenico Criscito, Christian Maggio, Leonardo Bonucci, Salvatore Bocchetti, Gianluca Zambrotta, Angelo Palombo, Federico Marchetti, Morgan De Sanctis.

This kit remains memorable not just for its stylish design but also for the shocking downfall of Italy’s golden generation, marking the end of an era for several World Cup-winning players.
