Functieomschrijving

In this role, you'll play a key part in the ongoing support and upkeep of the Karel Doorman, a vital logistics vessel of the Royal Netherlands Navy. During this temporary engagement, you'll take on structural design tasks primarily using NUPAS Cadmatic. Your main objective will be to maintain and update both technical drawings and related documentation, ensuring alignment with operational demands and naval engineering standards. Close cooperation with various internal teams and external parties will be essential to keeping this mission-critical ship in peak operational shape.

Key Responsibilities:

 Revise and manage 2D and 3D structural models for the Karel Doorman utilizing NUPAS Cadmatic.
 Create and adapt technical documentation, including structural plans, section views, base layouts, and deck configurations.
 Ensure all drawings and records meet naval compliance and in-house quality benchmarks.
 Engage with multidisciplinary teams and navy personnel to address and solve structural concerns.
 Provide insights and recommendations on design improvements and maintenance-related enhancements.
 Take part in reviews and technical consultations with relevant stakeholders.
 Maintain thorough documentation and share essential knowledge to secure project continuity after your departure.

Functie-eisen

 Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field with 3–5 years of experience, or a vocational technical education with 7–10 years of experience.
 Have hands-on experience in structural engineering within the shipbuilding or offshore industry.
 Be proficient in working with NUPAS Cadmatic—this is a firm requirement.
 Have exposure to lifecycle support or maintenance engineering of naval or high-complexity vessels, which is an advantage.
 Communicate fluently in both Dutch and English, verbally and in writing.
 Be adaptable and capable of managing your own work effectively in a project-based environment.
 Be able to provide strong references, as a security clearance check is required for this position.
 Possess permanent citizenship within the EU and an EU-issued passport. Applicants who hold only a (work) visa or a non-EU passport are unfortunately not eligible due to the military sensitivity of the assignment.
