As an Enterprise Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital infrastructure that supports continuous advancement in naval ship construction.
Engaging directly with stakeholders from shipbuilding and defense operations, you'll gain in-depth insights into their strategic aims.
With that knowledge, you'll craft and guide the development of an enterprise architecture that supports long-term business goals.
Your contributions will drive key improvements in the IT ecosystem and strengthen alignment between technology and operations.
The formal designation for this opportunity is IT Architect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate complex business goals into actionable IT strategies, identifying shortcomings in current systems to launch targeted improvements.
• Design enterprise-level blueprints, reusable solution components, and architecture standards that align with strategic priorities.
• Embed strong cybersecurity principles in every aspect of system architecture to protect sensitive information and infrastructure.
• Work collaboratively across multiple architecture domains and organizational units to ensure systems work together seamlessly.
• Provide expert guidance on IT tools that enhance ship design, production workflows, and defense-related functionalities.
• Make informed decisions on technology stacks based on scalability, efficiency, and long-term compatibility.
• Ensure architectural compliance with legal standards, industry norms, and defense-sector regulations.
• Oversee IT initiatives and ensure technical solutions are aligned with overarching business objectives.
• Keep up with the latest technology trends to drive continuous improvement in system capabilities.

Functie-eisen

• A Master’s degree in IT or a related field and 5–7 years of experience in enterprise architecture, or a Bachelor’s with 7–10 years of equivalent background.
• Solid expertise in architecture methodologies such as TOGAF, and the ability to turn technical requirements into scalable designs using specialized tools.
• Experienced in providing high-level architectural advice to leadership, especially regarding systems, compliance, and operational risk.
• Familiarity with manufacturing or naval shipbuilding industries is highly beneficial for understanding stakeholder priorities.
• Fluency in English is required; Dutch language skills are an asset.
• Strong professional references are expected, as candidates will undergo a formal security check.
• Only individuals holding permanent EU citizenship and an EU passport are eligible due to the nature of the projects. Dual nationals or individuals on work visas are not considered.
